





- Snorkel with our local guides who will show and point out the myriad of fishes, corals & marine flora. Snorkel the inner reefs and or snorkel the Great Sea Reef. Come and look at the DVD that names all those fishes in the pavilion.
- Fishing - hand line fishing - great way to introduce fishing to young people - this can be combined with snorkeling - trawling, casting and fly fishing - more for adults only.
- Ecology walk on the reef flat - every child that has been to Nukubati (and many adults) love this; Salote takes you on an ecology walk over the reef and shows you the marine life that call this special ecosystem their home.
- Cultural heritage walk and talk on Nukubati - held up on Lookout Hill in the Fijian Bure. Get a short history lesson on Fiji describing Nukubati Islands role and be pointed out old fortifications and historic islands nearby. Usually captures the children’s imagination.
- Village visit - organized to suit the needs of the group.
- Visit and attend a Fijian village school. Recommend the children bring something to give to the school (may even be pre-loved books/sports gear/pens/crayons) - everything is totally appreciated.
- Black Pearl Farm visit . . . see how pearls are farmed, seeded, harvested and of course buy direct from the farm! - what a story.
- Attend a Fijian church service on a Sunday and hear angels sing
- Learn Fijian weaving and similar handicraft making at he resort.
- Cooking classes with our chefs.
- Sand bank picnics
- Medicinal and herbal tour of the island.
- Octopus hunting ( seasonal) and other gathering and hunting of edible molluscs (mussels, crabs & clams)
- Volleyball - grass and beach
- Beach activities - sailing, wind surfing, swimming, kayaking and the wild thing.
- We can teach the kids how to make Fijian kites and if the wind is right spend an afternoon flying kites.
- Hiking on the mainland
- Fijian Story telling with Salote - this may incorporate the children learning a traditional Fijian Dance
- And we have a huge selection of Board games that western kids are familiar with; and a few games that our staff will teach and play with the kids.
- As you can see, we can gainfully occupy the children the whole time they are on the island.
- Also if parents want children free mealtimes, we can organize picnics with the children off the island or just separate supervised meal times for the children
